The 2017 baseball season has in many ways been defined by the dominance of three teams. The Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers and Cleveland Indians all surpassed 100 wins, each enjoying extended runs that removed almost all doubt from their division races. The Astros were 42-16 by early June, then the Dodgers took off, winning 56 of 67 games during a stretch that almost defied description. When Los Angeles finally slumped, Cleveland stole the attention with a 22-game winning streak that set an American League record.
